Portals and links

What your clients, subcontractors and crew see from their side.

Portals and links

Most of Base is for your own team. This section is about the pages other people land on: the client who opens the portal link you emailed, the subcontractor pricing a package or lodging a claim, the signer with a contract in front of them, the crew member scanning the QR at the gate, the visitor filling in a declaration, the enquirer on your website.

None of these pages needs a Base account. Each one is opened by a link that Base creates from inside your account, and the link is the credential. Whoever holds it sees what it shows. That is why every page here starts with how the link is made and what to tell the person about forwarding it, and why the pages that carry money or legal effect ask the person to confirm a code before they decide anything.

Each page is written from the other person's seat, for you: what they see, what they can do, what Base records on your side when they do it, and who in your business is told. Read the page before you send the link, so you can tell the person what to expect.

This section's pages are listed on the right. Each follows the same shape: what it is, before you start, how to, what happens on its own, and things that surprise people.
