Workshop
The Workshop board is the whole company's shop floor on one screen. It lists every joinery unit a project manager has released to the workshop, across every job, with its drawing status, where it is in production, who is making it, the hours against it and the day it is due to leave. It is for the foreman and the joiners: the people who need to know what is on the floor this week without opening each job in turn.
The board is read-only. A unit is moved through production on its own job's Manufacturing page; the Workshop board shows the result.
- The Workshop module must be on for you (Settings → Team modules). If it is not, the page tells you so and names the admin who can switch it on.
- A unit appears here only after someone has pressed Release on it on the job's Manufacturing page. Release needs an approved shop drawing and a price (an estimate line), so a unit that is still being detailed will not be on the board yet.
- Stations cannot be set up yet, so the By station view is empty and the station filter has nothing to offer. The Units tab carries everything.
- Open Workshop from the nav.
- Read the five tiles across the top: Released, In production, Ready to dispatch, Installed and Overdue. They count the units on the board after your filters.
- The Units tab lists every released unit: its tag, name and location, the job and project, the drawing status and revision, the production stage, the assigned joiner, hours logged against hours estimated, and the scheduled dispatch date. A unit whose dispatch date has passed and is not yet dispatched, installed or complete is marked overdue in red.
- Type in Search to match a unit's tag, name or project.
- Pick a Project, a Status (any production stage, from Not started to Complete) or a Joiner to filter. The tiles and the list update together.
- Clear a filter by setting it back to "All".
- Press the project's name on the row, or open at the end of the row.
- You land on that job's Manufacturing page, where the unit can be advanced, released or pulled back.
- Press the Gantt tab.
- Choose Day, Week or Month for the scale.
- Each bar runs from the day the unit was released to its scheduled dispatch date. A unit with no dispatch date yet is drawn as two weeks from release so it still has a bar. Overdue bars are flagged.
- The board refreshes itself when a unit changes: when someone advances a unit, releases it or pulls it back on a Manufacturing page, or when the assistant moves one for you.
- The assistant can read the board and answer "what is in the workshop right now", explain how a unit gets from released to dispatched, filter the board for you, or add joinery units and propose a bill of materials when you ask. It never advances a unit through production from a background run; a person asks, or does it on the job.
- Nothing on this screen changes a unit. Every action is on the job's Manufacturing page; the board is a window, not a control panel.
- Overdue is judged against the unit's scheduled dispatch date only. A unit with no date set is never overdue, however long it has sat there.
- By station groups by production stage for now, because station assignment is not built. The empty state says so rather than pretending.
- Hours show as logged against estimated. A unit with no estimated hours shows only what has been logged.
- The list stops at 500 units. A company that has released more than that at once sees the earliest-due 500.
- Manufacturing, where units are made, released and dispatched.
- Designs, where the unit's 3D model comes from.
