Feedback requests
The list of questions Base has asked you about the businesses that worked on your jobs: how did this subcontractor or supplier go on this job? Each one is a short form — five scores, would you use them again, what went well and badly. Your answers go into the business's track record, which your team sees when someone invites or awards them, and are never shown to the business. Project managers answer most of them; admins can answer or clear any of them.
- You need an admin or team account. Anyone else who opens the page is told it is for admins and team members.
- The questions arrive on their own, so there is nothing to set up. If the page says feedback is not switched on yet on this deployment, your Base account does not have the track record yet; ask whoever looks after your account.
- Open the page from the message in your inbox, from Rate the trades on this job on a job's Handover page after practical completion or close, or from the Track record tab of the business in Contacts. With no job or business chosen it shows what was asked of you.
- Each card asks how one business went on one job, says what prompted the question (a purchase order completed, an engagement completed, practical completion, the job closed) and when, and shows What Base saw: the one-line record so far and any flags on it, so you are not rating blind.
- Score what you can judge from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent): Quality of work, Programme, Safety, Communication and Paperwork. Leave any you cannot judge blank; press a number again to clear it.
- Answer Would you use them again? with Yes, Not sure or No. Choosing No tells you it will raise a serious flag on their record, so say why in the notes.
- Write What went well, What went badly and a Note if you have something to say. Stick to the work.
- Press Save feedback. The card goes away and the business's record is rescored straight away, so a serious flag shows the next time anyone invites or awards them.
You must give at least one score, answer whether you would use them again, or write a note. A blank form is refused and asks you to fill something in or skip.
- Press Skip on the card.
- The question is closed for good and the card goes away. Only the person it was asked of, or an admin, can skip it.
- From a job's Handover page, Rate the trades on this job opens the page filtered to that job, with every open request on it, whoever it was asked of. A card asked of someone else says so.
- From a business's Track record tab in Contacts, Answer it (or Answer them) opens the page filtered to that business.
- Any admin or team member can answer a request in these views, not only the person asked. Show only mine returns to your own.
Give feedback nobody asked for
- Open the business in Contacts and its Track record tab.
- Press Give feedback, choose which job it is about (or "Not about one job"), and fill in the same form.
- Base raises the questions. When practical completion is declared and when a job is closed, it asks about every business that worked on the job at once. Each night it also catches up on purchase orders and engagements that finished in the last 14 days and nobody has been asked about.
- It asks one person per business per job: whoever issued the business's purchase order or tender if they are still on your team, otherwise the job's head PM, otherwise the person who declared practical completion or closed the job, otherwise your first admin. One inbox message covers every business on the job.
- It does not nag. A business is asked about once per job, whatever prompted it. Nobody is asked about a business they gave feedback on in the last 30 days. A reminder comes three days after the question and three days after the last reminder, at most twice, and never once a question is 30 days old.
- Saving feedback rescores the business at once. No to using them again raises a serious flag that shows when someone invites them to tender and when a tender is awarded to them, where the person awarding has to tick that they have read it.
- The assistant can read your open requests and fill one in when you ask it in chat. It never answers one on its own, and never from a background run.
- Skip is final. There is no way to reopen a skipped question; if you change your mind, use Give feedback on the business's Track record tab instead.
- Feedback is internal. The business never sees the scores, the notes or who wrote them. The business's own public profile is a separate thing.
- Anyone on the team can answer a question asked of someone else, when they open it from the job or the business. Only the person asked, or an admin, can skip one, and only the person who wrote feedback can change it later.
- A question that nobody answers stays open; after 30 days it stops reminding you, but it is still on the page until someone answers or skips it.
- Contacts — the Track record tab, where the answers land
- Handover — where the question is raised at practical completion and close
- Tenders — where the record is shown when you invite or award
